Big Tap In set for April 21 at Covelli Centre

The third annual “Big Tap In” will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.

Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at Vintage Estate Wine and Beer in Boardman or online at http://www.bigtapin.com. The event benefits Making Kids Count, Inc. a non-profit organization that helps children in the Mahoning Valley.

As in previous years, the regional craft-beer and cider-tasting event will feature entertainment. Featured performers include Edison’s Medicine, Youngstown Percussion Collective, Mt. Carmel Society Band, Tribe of Eos Belly Dancers, Veterans Memorial Pipe Band, Steve Vuich and The Djembe Friends. In addition, Frank Speziale’s Baby Doll, a staple of Lowellville’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Festival, will make an appearance.

The “Big Tap In” will feature over 20 local food vendors and 17 local artists. Attendees must be 21 years of age to purchase a ticket to the event. There will be no ticket sales at the door.

As part of this year’s event, Youngstown Mayor Chuck Sammarone will tap the ceremonial keg to begin the general session.

“We are excited to have the city’s mayor open the ‘Big Tap In’ ceremonies,” said Sandy Reda, event organizer. “We expect over 2,000 attendees to be visiting Youngstown for the ‘Big Tap In’ and they will be traveling from all across the country. Greetings from the city’s mayor will be a great way to welcome them to the city.”
