Valley chiropractor to speak at international symposium in Beijing on May 16

Dr. Andria Marie D’Amato of D’Amato Chiropractic Clinic has been invited to participate in the Second Beijing International Symposium on Integrative Medicine on May 16.

D’Amato will travel to Beijing to collaborate with domestic and foreign experts on current development, clinical research and practices of integrative medicine to treat common diseases from traditional medicine and western medicine viewpoints.

“This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to continue my education in acupuncture with the masters of the field,” said D’Amato. “I always planned to return to Youngstown to provide affordable, accessible acupuncture care to our community.  I’m so proud to represent the Valley on an international level, and I’m looking forward to bringing what I learn home to help others.”

A 2001 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, she earned her bachelor’s of science in human biology from Logan University and marine biology from St. Francis University and a doctor of chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis.

D’Amato is Ohio State Chiropractic Board certified and licensed by the State Chiropractic Board to practice acupuncture. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture and a fellow in the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture.

D’Amato has been the director of Acupuncture Pain Management at D’Amato Chiropractic Clinic since 2009. In addition to acupuncture, D’Amato offers chiropractic care, physical rehabilitation, nutrition counseling, sports and work related injuries.
