SouthernCare Hospice to host health fair, blood drive on Feb. 20 at Boardman Park

SouthernCare Hospice will hosting a free health fair and blood drive in support of American Heart Month.  It occurs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Lariccia Family Community Center located at Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman. 

Vendors will be available to provide free health screenings and information on heart health, nutrition and smoking cessation.

“The purpose of the health fair is to empower people with knowledge to prevent disease and manage their health. February is heart month and heart disease in the number one cause of death for both men and women. We hope the health fair will provide participants with the resources to live longer, healthier lives,” said Danielle Procopio, community relations director.

The American Red Cross will be on-site collecting blood from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled by calling SouthernCare. For more information, call 330-797-8940 or email at dprocopio@southerncareinc.com.
