Ohio EPA director to speak at Regional Chamber breakfast on March 25

Scott Nally, director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, will be the speaker at a Regional Chamber Government Affairs Council breakfast scheduled for 7:30 to 9 a.m. on March 25 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.

Nally has been Ohio EPA director since January 2011 and has more than 20 years of public and private environmental management experience. He leads the cabinet-level agency that is responsible for implementing federal and state regulations to protect human health and the environment while ensuring the environmentally sound operations of business and government activities imperative to economic growth.

Nally will be asked to address a number of issues, including oil and gas development in Northeast Ohio, as well as the clean-up of the Mahoning River. A panel of local business and government officials also will discuss EPA issues with the director.

Prior to taking the helm at the Ohio EPA, Nally spent six years at Ohio’s sister agency in Indiana. Nally has an undergraduate degree in biological sciences from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in science from the University of Wyoming.

The event is open to the public. Cost is $20 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members.
