Free Income Tax Preparation: VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, MYCAP Offices, 1325 Fifth Avenue, Youngstown; call Francine Jeffries at 330-747-7921, extension 1738. Volunteers provide free tax preparation to eligible taxpayers, which include low-to-moderate income individuals, families and senior citizens. To be eligible, individuals and families should have earned a gross income of $51,000 or less in 2012. The income includes all sources, including wages, interest, dividends, royalties, odd jobs, or any other income. Sessions occur from 5-7:30 p.m. on Mondays (March 4, 11, 18); 5-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays (March 5, 12 and 19); 5-9 p.m. on Fridays (March 1, 15); and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays (March 9, 23). 5-9 p.m. Call for more information. This course includes audio recordings, guided meditations, readings and discussion questions. Today’s duct tape fund-raiser was organized by the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) in memory of Brandy Stevens-Rosine. As part of the fund-raiser, Dean Stevens, cousin of Brandy, will be duct-taped to the wall at Boardman Library. Donors can purchase strips of duct tape to contribute to the event. (The cost is an arm’s length of tape for $4 or three arms lengths for $10.) General donations also will be accepted. Teens will be accepting donation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 and 9 and from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at the Boardman Library.  Proceeds will benefit a Teen Collection of Library materials at the Boardman Library in memory of Brandy.
