Presented by Joe Caruso and Sarah Lown.  As typical funding sources seem to be shrinking, more and more organizations seek to diversify their funding by adding new sources of income. However, be warned, not all funding sources are created equal. When it comes to federal funding, do you really know what you are getting into? A common pitfall for an organization is to secure federal funding and then no longer be able to provide the intended services to its clientele because all the organization’s time is spent in simply keeping up with stringent reporting. The issue of federal funding is incredibly complex, from finding it and securing it; to spending it and maintaining it for the future – plus, there are the formidable challenges of dealing with the federal government, where the cliché of endless red tape is all too accurate.  Reservations are required. 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.  $15, $25, $10 .
