State Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash that killed 6 and injured 2 in Trumbull County

• A press conference will be held at 8 p.m. today at the Warren Post 3424 of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, located at U.S. Route 422 in Southington.

The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m. today. The crash occurred on Pine Street SE, north of the intersection of Burton Street in the city of Warren in Trumbull County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the vehicle, a 1998 Honda Passport containing eight persons, was traveling south on Pine Street. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck and rolled over a guardrail.  The vehicle then became submerged on its roof in a swamp. Two of the occupants were able to escape from the vehicle and went to a nearby residence to call 911. Warren City Fire Department arrived on scene and removed five victims from inside the vehicle. A sixth victim was ejected during the crash and was located under the vehicle when it was being removed from the water.

The two injured and six deceased were taken to both St. Joseph’s and Trumbull Memorial Hospitals in Warren.

The occupants of the vehicle are:

Injured: Brian K.  Henry, 18, of Warren. Asher  C. Lewis, 15, of Warren.

Deceased: Alexis Cayson, 19, of Warren; Andrique Bennett, 14, of Warren; Kirklan M. Behner, 15, of Warren; Daylan Ray, 15, of Warren; Brandon A. Murray, 17, of Warren; Ramone M. White, 15, of Warren.

The crash remains under investigation by OSHP Warren, Ohio Investigative Unit, and the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office.
