Roy Juarez, founder and CEO of America’s Business Leaders in San Antonio, will visit Choffin Career & Technical Center from 9:15 a.m.-10:15 a.m. on Monday, March 25 as part of a national tour.

Juarez’s tour is called “My Bag, My Home: Homeless By Choice.”

At age 14, Juarez became homeless due to a violent divorce. After spending 2 ½ years living in dozens of homes, he found a stable family who took him in and gave him the opportunity to attend college. He is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University and recently appeared on CNN in a segment leading up to “Latinos in America.”

Juarez’s story has caught the attention of the New York Times bestseller “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series. In August of 2009 his story was featured in “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Extraordinary Teens.’

Juarez speaks to audiences in some of America’s toughest neighborhoods and wishes that sharing his story will inspire and provide hope. His story has reached over 82,000 young people and he has been living “Homeless by Choice” for over two years.
