Feb. 21: ‘Mad About the Arts’ at the McDonough Museum of Art

WYSU 88.5 FM and the John J. McDonough Museum of Art are re-uniting to present the 19th annual “Mad About the Arts” from 6:30-10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 at the McDonough Museum on the campus of Youngstown State University. “Mad About the Arts” benefits the McDonough Museum of Art and WYSU 88.5 FM.

“Mad About the Arts” begins at 6:30 p.m. with a presentation of wine craft and connoisseurship hosted by Ed Goist of WYSU. The main event follows at 7 p.m. with the YSU Jazz Ensemble 2 and appetizers, beverages and desserts. Pianist and YSU faculty member Dr. Alton Merrell takes the stage with his jazz trio at 8:30 p.m.

The event’s featured exhibition is “UNCHARTED,” which explores innovation and tradition. This biennial exhibition features current work by Department of Art faculty. The exhibition will highlight the works of Claudia Berlinski, Missy McCormick and R.J. Thompson, recent additions to the Department of Art faculty.
