YMCA of Youngstown launches new mobile app for smartphones, tablets

The YMCA of Youngstown has announced the launch of a new mobile application that makes it easier for Y members and the community to get information about activities at the Central YMCA in Youngstown and the Davis Family YMCA in Boardman.

The app provides schedules and descriptions about exercise classes and water aerobics classes, which are searchable by class category, date or instructor. Classes and sports events can be added to personal calendars through the application. The app also provides real-time updates about sports and program cancellations and facility closures. In addition, Y members can scan into their Y facility with the app without needing their key fob.

The application is free and available for iPhone, iPad and Android by visiting the App Store or Google Play Store and searching “YMCA of Youngstown.” The app is part of the YMCA of Youngstown’s YConnect initiative, which seeks to better engage Y members and non-members in Y activities.
