The McDonough Museum of Art will open the 79th Annual Juried Student Art & Design Exhibition with a reception and awards ceremony from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 27. The exhibit continues through April 10 at the museum and features works by students enrolled in the Department of Art at YSU.
During the reception, student work will be recognized in award categories that include photography, painting, sculpture, digital media, graphic and interactive design. The reception and ceremony are free and open to the public.
The exhibit was juried by William Busta, director of the William Busta Gallery in Cleveland. He has curated several exhibitions in Cleveland, including, “Living in Your Imagination: SPACES 30th Anniversary Exhibition,” “The Persistence of Conscience: Lilian Tyrrell Textiles and Drawings 1979- 2005,” and “Mist, Smoke and Mirror: Artists and the Cuyahoga Valley.” He opened his first gallery in Cleveland in Little Italy in 1989. His current gallery is located on Prospect Avenue, just east of Cleveland State University.
The McDonough Museum of Art is located on the campus of Youngstown State University on Wick Avenue between Spring Street and Lincoln Avenue near the M-1 parking deck. Hours at the McDonough Museum of Art are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Museum is open to the public and admission is free.
