September 27, 2015: McD’s Sock Run to benefit Ronald McDonald House

The inaugural McD’s Sock Run, which will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mahoning Valley & Western PA, will occur beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27  at Federal Plaza East in downtown Youngstown.

Registration for the 5K run/walk and a kids’ fun run opens at 1 p.m. The kids’ run begins at 2:30 p.m. The 5K run/walk begins at 3 p.m. Free parking is available downtown at 201 E. Commerce St.

AC & Kelly from Hot 101 will be broadcasting from the race site that afternoon. Children’s activities will include crafting sun visors, tattoos, plus a Ronald McDonald magic show and meet-and-greet.

The first 300 5K registrants will receive a Dri-Fit shirt and red/white striped “Ronald” socks. All 5K participants will be entered for a chance to win two round-trip Southwest Airline tickets within the continental U.S.

Pre-registration is available on-line at http://www.mcdssockrun.com. Registrations with fee may be mailed to RMHC of Mahoning Valley & Western PA at 4900 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512. The early-registration fee (until Sept. 25) is $20. The race day registration fee is $25. Packet pick-up and late registration is from 1-7 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 550 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman.
