November 6-8, 2015: Barnes & Noble, Make: Magazine to host Mini Maker Faire

Barnes & Noble has partnered with Make Magazine for a Mini Maker Faire at its stores nationwide. It occurs locally from Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8 at Barnes and Noble in Boardman.

Throughout the weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in interactive product demonstrations to learn programming, coding and 3D printing, and to take part in collaborative hands-on sessions that teach designing, handcrafting and constructing. Participants also will be able to “meet the makers.” Guests include students and instructors from the Hoyt School for the Arts, students from the Chaney Campus STEM Program and Kevin Wolfgang from The Fashion School at Kent State University.

Product demonstrations and collaborative hands-on-learning experiences will be repeated throughout the weekend.

Maker Faire is a community-based learning event that seeks to allow everyone to become a maker and connect with people and projects in their local community. Events are for people of all ages and backgrounds “who have a desire to create, learn and share, and who bring a DIY mindset to technology.” Barnes & Noble’s Mini Maker Faire seeks to introduce, educate and engage others to the maker movement.
