February 14, 2016: American Guild of Organists to present free concert at St. John’s Episcopal Church



The Youngstown chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present a special free organ concert by Dr. Richard Konzen at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. 

The program will include Baroque and romantic music, as well as modern pieces.

Konzen is professor of music at Grove City College, where he teaches applied organ, music theory, and conducting courses. He is organist and choirmaster of St. John’s and an accomplished organist who appears regularly in concert. 

During the event, chapter dean Adam Zagotti will announce the plans and schedule for the 2017 Great Lakes Regional Convention of the American Guild of Organists, which will be held in Youngstown July 2-July 5, 2017. The biannual regional convention brings together over 300 musicians from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky as well as guests from all over the world for the multi-day convention. Many of the convention concerts will be open to the public.
